Constructing Computer-Mediated Feedback in Virtual Reality for Improving Peer Learning: A Synthesis of the Literature in Presentation Research

Abstract While feedback is frequently emphasized as a crucial principle of presentation courses in higher education, previous studies revealed that teachers outperform peers terms impact on students’ development oral competence. Further, research showed the lack quality peer can be considered an essential argumentation for identified differences effect. Follow-up field experiments demonstrated Virtual Reality (VR) valuable alternative source developing public speaking skills, since this technology able to simulate real-life situations well deliver from VR system individual learner. Recent technological developments allowed convert quantitative information systems into qualitative messages directly relate standards high-quality feedback. If students are individually interpret without intervention human source, it could enrich and self-learning further increase competence development. This chapter provides synthesis literature with aim construct agenda computer-mediated learning field. two recent discussed effectively improving learning.
